Polyhouse is an app that is made for climatic parameter control in your greenhouse and other precision farming solutions. App mainly focus on three climatic parameters temperature, relative humidity and soil moisture because these are the main aspects that affects crop production in protected cultivation. App shows the real time data recorded by IoT enabled sensors as well as keep history of the parameters. Moreover, app also store the history of climatic parameter fluctuation during the crop cycle which helps user to identify the relation between production and climatic parameters fluctuation.
A normal greenhouse which costs 200-350 INR/square meter are most common in India (over 90% of total protected cultivation) but it is not that effective because of manual operations and labour requirement. The other types are Semi-automatic with fans and pads (costs 500-1500 INR/ sq. m) and fully automatic (costs 1500-3000 INR/ sq. m). In fully automatic greenhouses, there is a system that read and record the climatic parameters, analyse and respond accordingly. It involves a huge setup of sensors and machines that need electricity for operations that results in higher cost. Semi-automatic and normal greenhouses also have some facility like sprinklers, dripping system, fans and pads facility but the overall operation is done manually by assuming climatic parameters manually. It requires good sense and knowledge of climatic parameters as well as physical presence is required every time.
To overcome this scenario, Mobiloitte technologies has made a cost-effective and user-friendly solution with the help of IoT and Information Technology. The solution contains a device loaded with sensors, Wi-Fi router and farmer-friendly bilingual (in English and Hindi) mobile app. With help of this solution, a grower can see these three parameters from the app anywhere and instruct labour to do the needful i.e. to switch on the fan or lift the pads or switch on the dripping system.
The main features of the app are
1. A bilingual user-friendly app.
2. Focus on Temperature, relative humidity and soil moisture which is the main production influencer in protected cultivation.
3. User can set parameters as per crop requirement.
4. Previous crop climatic parameter history has been stored in the app for future analysis.
5. All three parameters have been shown on homepage, so user can see easily.
6. History can also be seen in weekly, monthly and yearly format.
7. Reading has been taken every hour, so user can get little fluctuation and react accordingly.
8. User set the Minimum and maximum reach limit of the climatic parameters.
9. Notification and alarm system when parameters reach their minimum or maximum limit.
